Ranch Conservation & Management Projects
| Ranch
improvement is a top priority at BOSS Ranch. Since 1988
there have been more than 30 miles of new pipelines
installed carrying water to over 100 water troughs on the
ranch. Dirt tanks have been reworked, spreader dams have
been constructed, and over 15 miles of new cross fences
have been built for rotational grazing practices.
Extensive reseeding of native and hybrid grasses and
prescribed brush control are among the various continuous
conservation practices. These conservation practices are paralleled with our management practices. There is always water, mineral, and salt available for the wildlife and livestock. We are also offering protein supplements on a seasonal basis. The management program works closely with the Natural Resource Conservation Service as well as the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to determine stocking rates and harvest recommendations. Bob Buescher and BOSS Ranch have received several awards for stewardship to the land. |
