West Texas has been blessed with some much needed rain for the last two years.  Rainfall for 2003 was about 30 inches and it is close to 50 inches for 2004.  The country is looking the best it has looked since the late 1980's.

Over the last nineteen years, our extensive management and conservation practices have enabled us to excel during the worst drought in 50 years.  2002 was our worst year for rainfall, and we were still able to harvest some great West Texas Mule Deer.  Our guided hunts harvested bucks that scored from the mid 140's all the way to the mid 170's.  We believe that our management plan works and we are very proud of the results.

Our extensive management practices are successful, and the evidence are in the quality of our wildlife.  The average age of the deer harvested in 1998 was 7.7 years, 7.5 years in 1999, 7.0 years in 2000, above 7.0 years again in 2001,  6.5 years in 2002, 6.9 in 2003, and 7.2 in 2004.   Game Biologists in the region consider anything over 5.5 years a mature buck, and our ages represent the older mature bucks that we offer.  Our hunters have experienced 100% success for the last five years straight.  We do not allow any bucks to be harvested that are less than 10 points and/or the spreads must be beyond their ears. 

Currently, we are booking for our 2008 & 2009 Mule Deer seasons.     The hunt includes one mule deer buck, one javelina, and (varmint/ predator hunting during the day).  Meals, lodging, guides, and airport transportation are also included.  Our Mule Deer hunt is three days, with four nights stay.
